Historical Museum

The Historical Museum is located in the historic Miles-Potter-Humes House, an early nineteenth century Georgian home situated in the heart of downtown Bellefonte.  The museum is dedicated to preserving and sharing Centre County artifacts, as well as our story. Collections celebrate our industrial heritage, the county’s influential residents, its impressive textile history, and everyday life in Bellefonte and the surrounding areas. We maintain an impressive in-house photograph collection, oral history archives, postcard collection, and textile collection.

The Historical Museum is open to visitors daily, Monday through Friday, from 12 noon until 5 PM EST. Tours and specific queries regarding our materials may be requested by email (click the CONTACT MANAGER button below) at least one week in advance.
