Centre County Library’s Historical Museum is located in the historic Miles-Humes House, an early nineteenth century Georgian-style colonial home situated in the heart of downtown Bellefonte. The museum is dedicated to preserving and sharing Centre County artifacts, as well as our story. Collections celebrate our industrial heritage, the county’s influential residents, its impressive textile history, and everyday life in Bellefonte and the surrounding areas.
The Historical Museum can be toured for free any time the home is open. Please contact us in advance for large groups.
The Miles-Humes House is also home to the Pennsylvania Room, a specialized reference library dedicated to local history and genealogical research. For more information, please visit our genealogy page.
