 Basic Library Instruction

Our staff are happy to visit local organizations to familiarize their members and students with basic library skills and services, such as using the online library catalog and using resources on the library’s website. These visits can also provide the opportunity for library card sign-up. Library instruction visits are especially great for schools and senior centers. In schools, these information sessions can be incorporated into already existing events like STEM nights and family reading nights. In senior centers, library instruction can be used to familiarize users with aspects of the library that have changed in their lifetime, like e-books and online catalogs.
