You and your neighbors are awesome—and it shows! This summer, our libraries have come alive with creativity, community, and color as part of the Summer Library Pursuit and its vibrant 2025 theme: Color Our World. Our libraries are currently filled with local art from library patrons and multiple times each week, participants of all ages come to our locations to make something new! Have you registered yet? There’s still time to join the fun! The energy and excitement surrounding this year’s program have been truly contagious, and we’d love for you to be a part of it. Here’s a quick look at what’s happened so far: 🎨 In just the first week, participants logged over 490 hours of reading 🎭 More than 230 people have joined us for live events at Bellefonte, Centre Hall, and Holt Memorial libraries 🎁 20 prizes have already been awarded to enthusiastic readers and creators! Participants have explored painting in Week 1 and textile art in Week 2—so what’s next? Get ready for even more ways to express yourself, with upcoming weeks focused on writing, drawing, music, gardening/architecture, and photography. Turn in your raffle tickets, attend a program, or just stop in to see the incredible art on display—your next great summer memory could start at the library. And who knows? Join us virtually or at one of our locations for any of our book clubs! We even have book clubs for book lovers who prefer talking about books in general rather than a specific book. See below for details. Wednesday, July 2nd, 1 PM: Holt Afternoon Book Club. Discuss the historical fiction novel, Before We Were Yours, by Lisa Wingate with other book lovers at Holt Memorial Library (no registration required). Call the library at 814-342-1987 if you would like to reserve a copy of the book or if you have any questions. Thursday, July 10th, 6 PM: The Centre Hall Mystery Book Club will discuss the psychological thriller, "The Talented Mr. Ripley," by Patricia Highsmith. There is no need to register, but you may call 814-364-2580 if you have any questions. We always welcome new book club members! Saturday, July 12th, 10 AM: Book Lovers Coffee Hour. Come discuss what you are reading with other book lovers! This incredible resources is available to all Pennsylvanians with a library card, offering free access to over 30 databases filled with trusted information, educational tools, how-to guides, eBooks, and more. Don't have a library card yet? Just sign up for one on our website or POWER library's website. Whether you're helping your child study, tackling a DIY car repair, or picking up a new language, POWER Library has something for you--anytime, anywhere. Here are just a few of our favorite resources we recommend checking out: Auto Repair Source and Small Engine Repair Source Perfect for those who want to fix vehicles and engines themselves! Find references and diagrams for specific makes of vehicles and small engines (like lawnmowers, generators, snowblowers and more) in these databases. Bookflix A favorite among Centre County users, Bookflix is designed for children in PreK through 3rd grade. It pairs fiction and nonfiction books with engaging video content by theme -- helping young readers explore topics like shapes, holidays, animals, and more in a fun, accessible way. POWER Library eBook Collection Explore collections of over 13,500 e-books that cover a wide variety of subjects, from biographies to health. Most selections are nonfiction, but classic fiction books are also present. Transparent Language Online If you want to learn a new language, use this software! It’s free for you, includes over 110 languages (with regional dialects), and even includes placement testing if you already have some experience with the language. Upcoming LEGO Days in Centre Hall! |

 | Each month on the third Saturday throughout the summer, the Centre Hall Area Branch Library will be hosting a LEGO Day, where children and their families are invited to stop by and play with the library's LEGO collection while the library is open. LEGOs will be available for playing from 10 AM to 1:30 PM on the following future dates: - Saturday July 19th
- Saturday August 16th

Create something new at 3D Doodle Pen Drop-Ins |

 | Throughout June, July, and August, the Bellefonte Library will be hosting 3D Doodle Pen Drop Ins every Friday from 10 AM to 12 PM. Everyone is invited to come make a new creation with the library's 3D Doodle Pens for FREE. Stencils will be available to help get your creativity flowing, but you are also free to create something entirely of your own invention. No registration is necessary, just drop by! |

Upcoming Color Science Program for Kids! |

 | Does your child ever ask how we can make so many different colors? In an upcoming Let's Read Math program on Saturday, July 26th, sponsored by the AAUW STEM committee, kids will explore colors "behind the scenes". Starting with the book Splatter by Diane Alber we will learn about mixing colors. They'll find out how science and math help us make colors through color exploring activities. This program is designed for children ages 5 to 12 and it will occur twice, once from 10 AM to 11 AM and once from 11 AM to 12 PM.
